Happiness:
Until recently, the happiness and the ambition inside me have been fighting against each other. Things were just not working for me, and the misery of day to day life was intolerable. Driven by self-doubt, all I could see I myself is a person who is confused about who he is. This year has been revolutionary for me. The same problems that seem to exist then continue to exist. The only thing that changed was me. Lesson Learnt; happiness is a state of mind, and we choose to be happy or unhappy. I am

sure unfortunate events make us grieve and mourn, but long term happiness depends completely on our own outlook on life. I’ve transformed from someone who thought happiness is what you have to someone who thinks happiness is what you think. This has made me challenge the conventional ingredients for happiness. In the “Recipe for Happiness” series, I will explore how different people from different fields and walks of life believe is the reason for happiness.
Global Development
I am yet to find out how I suddenly became so interested in Global Development.
Perhaps it was the point where I decided to let go of medicine but at the same time made a vow to never let go of helping people.
I believe that the fortunate few of us who have managed to gain quality education should never ever limit our method of aid to
charity. With our skills and experiences, we should try tackle global problems at the grassroots level. Personally, I have been and am still involved with several organizations that aim to do precisely this. I have worked with One Laptop Per Child and continue to work with SEPLAA and the Development Solutions Organization (DSO) at Carnegie Mellon.
I attempt to make my discussions universal and never try to bring religion into them only because my audience is very very diverse.
However, interfaith dialog is one of the most important topics I discuss here. I hope I can use my multicultural experiences to provide ideas on how to bridge gaps between faiths, especially Islam and other faiths.

Life Challenges
Some of the problems I face with my introversion, and how I deal with them. Being an introvert has allowed me to develop a unique set of skills and a unique view of the world.
Carnegie Mellon
Occasionally, you might see me covering events on campus, but only if they have a universal appeal. I’m big on school spirit.
